Kenni Wright

Aloha, my name is Kennilyn Wright (everyone calls me Kenni), and I am originally from the Big Island of Hawaii. My family and culture is so beautiful, and I thank God everyday for where I came from and who God placed in my life. My journey started in Hawaii with the opportunity to attend a Christian school that taught me amazing Godly values, principles and leadership. With the teaching that I received I was able to apply what I learned to public education and sports for the remainder of my high school years. My favorite sports are basketball, volleyball, and track. My gifts that God has blessed me with that I utilize are counseling, advising, mentoring, coaching, leadership and a heart for missions and community. I have a servant's heart, and I love encouraging people to find their passion in life and to look for opportunities that God reveals to do his work in the lives of others!
My husband, Scott, and I met at Mesa State on the volleyball court, and we’ve been playing ball ever since. I love that God has abundantly blessed our marriage and life. Our son Logan is the light of our life who has recently graduated from high school, and is now going on to Colorado Mesa University to become a nurse. We love to spend time together in the outdoors, family get-togethers, watching movies, playing sports, and out in the ocean and lake. God is definitely the center of our lives in everything we do. My most treasured times are sunrises and sunsets when I get to spend one-on-one time with God.
I have four degrees from a certificate to a master’s degree in school counseling. For nearly seven years, I worked for Mesa County School District 51 as a School Counselor for two schools. Other work experiences include ministry, serving and management experience in restaurant business, and working for Ariel Clinical Services as a Family Engagement Facilitator. Being able to serve with a team in Africa to do mission work was amazing and humbling. I coached for Western Colorado Volleyball Club for at least three years and enjoyed coaching with my husband Scott which was truly an honor to do something I love with my soul mate.
My life scriptures are Proverbs 3:5-6 and Jerimiah 29:11.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6-Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord, “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and hope.”
I pray God will use me at Bookcliff Christian School with the chosen staff and administration to encourage our students, families and community to serve God with our whole heart through spiritual and educational teaching in love.
Much Aloha and Mahalo Nui Loa,
Kennilyn A. “Kenni” Wright
