We realize that making choices for your child's education is a huge blessing and responsiblity.
Meet the Retherford family and hear about their journey through this important decision:
We were definitely the family on the fence about where to send our daughter to kindergarten. We thought long and hard about this decision!!! We absolutely loved Bookcliff Preschool and the staff and wanted to keep her there. It was a financial commitment, but since Charlie started, we haven’t second guessed our decision once. Making financial sacrifices for your child’s education is a very easy pill to swallow! When I compared the curriculum and the hours she would receive from Bookcliff vs. public school, it was a no brainer. We were sold on the all-day, 5 day a week, Kindergarten which is VERY unique to Grand Junction. We really felt Charlie would enjoy learning a lot more, and would be much more effective at BCS.
Meet the Newbury family, who has been a part of the BCS family for 9 years! Hear about their experience, and their oldest son's transition into middleschool.
Hello! My name is Rachael and I am writing to share our story and how BCS has been a blessing to my husband Peter and our children Isaiah, Noah and Esa. God first led us to BCS through preschool. I was working as an Occupational Therapist with District 51 in their early education preschool program and one of the teacher’s recommended BCS. Isaiah was struggling at the preschool he was attending, and the close attention, structure and love he received at BCS was just what he needed. Fast forward and Isaiah continued at BCS through 5th grade, and now is attending his first year of middle school.
Meet the Jewkes family and hear about their personal journey, and what Bookcliff means to them.
Hello, my name is Sarah, and I’d like to tell you about my beautiful family. My husband, Keenan, is a navy veteran and a brainy mechanical engineer at CoorsTek. Keenan works hard and is a wonderful leader and provider for our family. Our eight year old son, Joshua, is a lively young man with a brilliant mind full of history and fun facts. He loves sports, reading and dressing up like historical figures from the past. Jerilynn, our six year old daughter, is a free spirited and encouraging little lady who loves art. She is creative and helpful and she loves quality time with her loved ones. I am a medical assistant for Primary Care Partners in pursuit of my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. I enjoy spending time with family and friends and take much pride in caring for and helping support my family. Sounds picture perfect, right? Well, since we are a bunch of families intertwined through our children and school doing life together, I feel it’s only fair to have a little vulnerability and let you all know that where we are today and where we started are two very different places.
Meet the Fischer family, whose boys have been growing at Bookcliff from Preschool through the 4th and 5th grades. We are blessed to have them in the Bobcat family!
Hi! My name is Sarah Fischer and my husband (of 17 years) is Jeremiah (aka Jere). Jere and I met in middle school in the small town of Cedaredge, Colorado. I am a CPA at Dalby, Wendland and Jere is a mortgage loan officer with Academy Mortgage.
We have two wonderful children, Evan and Cooper who are only 13 months apart. They are in the 4thand 5th grade at BCS. Evan and Cooper are great friends and when they are not in school stay busy playing on the same travel baseball team (with many other friends they met at BCS), and numerous other sports. We all enjoy the Colorado outdoors –camping, fishing, & snowboarding whenever we can.
Our family's journey with BCS began in preschool. We had friends who led us to choose BCS and we felt at home immediately. We were not sure we would stay passed preschool – but the all-day kindergarten and safe, & loving environment kept us here. We made the decision to continue their elementary school years at BCS for many reasons.
