Preschool Classes
Overview
Bookcliff Christian Preschool strives to provide opportunities for children to begin their learning in a safe and loving Christian environment. Our Preschool provides your child with a fun and positive experience and instills in them a love for school. Students receive structured and rigorous learning at an age appropriate level.
Each classroom works on developing independence in every child and provides many opportunities for them to reach their full potential spiritually, socially, cognitively, emotionally, and physically. Our Preschool not only strives to teach academics and structure, but we strive to plant seeds in their hearts about God. We use Bob Jones University curriculum for academics, and Answers in Genesis and ABC Jesus Loves Me for Bible.
We offer four classrooms for your child to grow through; two preschool classrooms for our younger 3’s and 4’s and two Pre-K classrooms for our older 4’s and 5’s. Each classroom is taught at their age appropriate level. Class sizes are kept small to ensure your child receives their teacher’s time and attention. Each class is taught by a credentialed lead teacher and/or a credentialed teacher and an experienced aide.
This positive start is beneficial for all students, and especially for those who continue at Bookcliff Christian School. These students experience even greater value from the consistency and continual progression into the higher grades. Children who begin their schooling and continue on at the same school tend to do exceptionally well academically and socially. Our school’s programs are designed to be consistent and build upon one another. Additionally, Children also develop close bonds with teachers, staff, friends, and other families; creating a safe and caring community for them to grow in. Our Preschool provides a strong foundation for children to begin their education and to build on for years to come.
Elementary Classes
Overview
Bookcliff Christian School follows a traditional classroom approach, while also integrating technology and a variety of teaching methods. Small class sizes allow each teacher to use creative and engaging techniques that make lessons fun and memorable. Bob Jones University Press is used for the majority of the curriculum, but Purposeful Design, Answers in Genesis and supplemental curriculum are used for certain subjects. These curriculums have been reviewed extensively and have been found to offer students the best possible biblical worldview within each of the subjects being taught. Subjects include: Bible & Christian Worldview, Science, History, Mathematics, Phonics, English, Reading, Spelling, Writing, Penmanship, Music, Art, Computer Technology, Library, and Physical Education.
In addition to a solid curriculum, teachers also come alongside their students to help each one discover their own strengths and God given-abilities. Throughout their teaching and personal interaction, teachers strive to instill character and daily life lessons using Biblical truths. Students will leave the Elementary School confidently prepared for Middle School; ready to excel academically, to engage socially, to stand strong in their faith, and to make a difference in their world.
Physical Education
In the elementary physical education program, we strive to spark a love for movement in students by introducing them to a variety of fun and unique ways to stay active, turuturing their growth as lifelong movers. By celebrating the gift of our bodies and honoring God’s design, we inspire children to find joy in fitness and embrace their individual physical potential.
Computer Technology
Students will develop basic skills in computer fundamentals, keyboarding, computer applications, research tools, and educational applications. Students will be provided with opportunities to learn and apply computer applications such as word processing, excel spreadsheets, multimedia programs, publishing programs, and presentation programs across the curriculum. Additionally, students will learn appropriate use of the internet and cyber safety lessons. All students will have proficient grade-level mastery of typing skills.
Art Heritage
The Art Heritage Program provides a unique experience for students. Each month, art units are presented based on well-known artists and cultural art forms. Students learn about an artist’s life and times, view presentations of the artist’s work, and learn about their particular style, time period, culture, and artwork. Students then get to create something, using each unique form of art. Lessons include print-making, sculpting, painting, drawing, weaving, copper embossing, and other art skills. Art helps students consider the way we look at everyday objects, encourages an outlet for creativity, and provides a positive release for emotions.
Integrative Learning through Music
Students are taught a variety of music concepts and skills, while also reinforcing learning from other academic classes. Lessons are designed to inspire imaginative thoughts, improve physical coordination, encourage critical thinking, rouse intellectual curiosity, fine-tune auditory skills, assist with pattern recognition, foster a love of reading, and much more. Through music, students learn spatial awareness, discipline, teamwork, self-confidence, and creative thinking, as well as improved language and reasoning skills. Best of all, our music classes are fun and our students love learning through music!

Middle School Classes
Overview
The middle school was restarted in 2022 and continues the strong foundation laid in preschool and elementary. While the curriculum, small class sizes, and ultimate goal of the teachers remain the same, there is a noticeable increase in workload and expectations for middle school students. Instead of having one teacher who teaches all the subjects, students will receive instruction from multiple teachers who specialize in their subjects. Class periods will be longer and students will have increased expectations and homework.
