“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Proverbs 22:6
Our School
Established
Bookcliff Christian School is a ministry of Bookcliff Baptist Church and desires to provide excellent academic and Biblically based education to students in the Grand Valley.
The Preschool was founded as the Rainbow Children’s Center in February, 1983 under the direction of Audi Loehr. The preschool’s beginning enrollment was 7 children. Since that time the preschool has continued to grow, at times caring for over 120 children.
The Elementary school was founded on August 31, 1988 under the leadership of Gary Reichard and had an enrollment of 10 students. The grade school has steadily grown and expanded, some years reaching an enrollment of over 100 students.
The Middle School was restarted in 2022 and continues the strong foundation laid in Preschool and Elementary.
Growing
Bookcliff Christian School began as a one room preschool over 30 years ago. Likewise, the Elementary school began in one room. Now, Bookcliff Christian School has two preschool classrooms for ages three to four, two pre-kindergarten classrooms for ages four to five, a K-5 elementary, and a 6-8 middle school with plans to continue adding grades each year. Each classroom is led by highly gifted, experienced, and certified teachers. The students receive a quality, well-rounded education rooted in Christian values and character building preparation.
Accountable
As a ministry of Bookcliff Baptist Church, Bookcliff Christian School receives guidance and accountability from it’s Advisory Team. The team is composed of six to eight members of Bookcliff Baptist Church and are chosen and confirmed through the constitutional processes of Bookcliff Baptist Church. These men and women have academic, educational, teaching, and/or business expertise and offer their time and talent as they serve God at BCS.
The purpose of the Bookcliff Christian School (BCS) Advisory Team is to provide insight and advice to the Principal, Preschool Director, Administration, Teachers, and Staff of BCS. The team collaborates with the administration in the areas of academics, policies, procedures, human resources, staff development, vision, mission, fundraising, finances, and more in order to ensure a quality Christian education is provided at BCS. Additionally, the team provides accountability for the administrators of BCS and fosters the relationship between the school, Bookcliff Baptist Church, and community stakeholders.
