The Lambert Family
Meet the Lambert family and hear their story of leaving and returning to BCS:
We are the Lambert family. My name is Erin, my husband is Jeremy and our six year old daughter is Allie. My husband and his family have been Bookcliff Baptist members for 30+ years and I began attending with Jeremy 11 years ago. Allie attended BCS pre-school and had a wonderful experience. Heading into Kindergarten, we struggled with whether to send her to BCS or public school. We continually went back and forth on the decision. Public school was free, near our house, offered 1/2 days, and we wouldn't have to worry about the transition from private to public when the time came.
After much thought and prayer we enrolled Allie into public school. In her second week, we asked her how her day went. It broke our hearts when she said "When do we start learning about Jesus?" We nearly pulled her out that week. Over the course of the year, there were more struggles and disappointments. She had a large class, and when I volunteered, I noticed Allie seemed almost lost in the crowd. We continued to pray about possibly moving her back to BCS. At the end of Kindergarten, we asked her where she would like to go? She had mixed feelings because she had close friends at each, but in the end she said "I want to learn about Jesus in school.” At that moment, we knew. Since being back at BCS, Allie has improved educationally at a much faster rate, she came out of her shell, and enjoys learning about Jesus again. As parents, we see the difference in her peers, the staff, and even the attitudes of the fellow parents. We have peace knowing she is around positive Christian influences while receiving a quality education.
As far as the transition to public school when the time comes....“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” ~ Proverbs 22:6
